For a while we thought he might squeeze in under the cut, but he didn't get all the birdies he needed on the back nine and wound up with a round of 70.  But some of the extra push diminished once he realized he was not going to make the cut.  His mental skills execution increased to an A for many of the middle holes, and he settled back to a B+ as his chances of making the cut faded on the last three holes.  He could have caught a flight right away, but he didn't.  I had accompanied Chip at only one tournament, but I could see already why he's known as one of the most positive players on tour.
